Nursing job in the UK, can you help me?
Hi from Italy. I’ve been contacted by a UK recruitment agency to work as a nurse in the UK, probably in the London area. Well, first of all, I don’t have a NMC registration and this might take months to get. Secondly, I asked on the phone the recruiter why, in this time of high unemployment, they have to look for nurses abroad. She told that the British don’t feel like studying for the matter and that the university for a degree in nursing is too expensive.
Can you tell me if that’s true? And could you tell me how are nurses treated up there? I mean, is the job nice or is it just like here in Italy that you have to work hard and long shifts and the job is not so satisfying as expected.
Thanks for any reply.
This agency sounds very suspect. Keep away from them.
You are right, you do need NMC registration and there are lots of unemployed nurses in the UK. As for the nursing degree being expensive, nursing students DO NOT pay tuition fees.
